The Girl in the Café

The Girl in the Café 是一部 HBO 自製電影. 以老少戀為主, G8 高峰會為輔的劇情. 看了片頭後真的有想要再看下去的慾望.

在片頭男主角在雨中走路加上 Rice Damien 演唱的"Cold Water", 真的可以說明男主角一直活在自已的世界之中. 曲尾時出現女主角的背影, 漸漸的秀出片名, 還真的有點像"愛情, 不用翻譯". "愛"片我也只看一點點無從比較, 但之前聽同事伊森轉述保羅的感想說: 看完"愛"片比做完愛或是開 911 還爽, 真的要再看一下^_^.

劇情由男主角勞倫斯(Lawrence)跟女主角吉娜(Gina)在咖啡廳的相遇開始. 當一個活在另一世界不善社交的老公務員遇上羞怯而又世故的女孩後, 老公務員發現這個女孩比他還暸解人生, 使得老人注意到她而愛上她. 而女孩也是漸漸的愛上的老人. 從開始兩個人都只知道冰島上的一件事, 到後來知道冰島上的四件事來說出她愛上了男主角. 但因為一些因素迫使女主角要離開冰島回去英國. 男主角在送她離開後自責的那段我也真的很想叫出來.

Gina: Zips shrink here and it is possible in Reykjavik to have a night of something quite close to love.

而 在 G8 (Great 8 or Greedy 8)上的著墨也不少, 主要是各國都想要爭取自己利益. 在八國開始開會時也很好玩. 英國在開頭就說法國人明明會講英文, 但一到會桌上就會說法文. 果然在會議上就出現了, 大家搶著戴上耳機的鏡頭真的很好玩, 英國人還在偷笑. 輪到日本人時英國人才慌張的戴上耳機. 還可以看美國那種強勢的態度, 英國一直處於妥協的劣勢. 但因為女孩的因素加上男主角最後跟大家說的一番話而改變了的英國的處境. 財政大臣最後在會議上的那番話也很精采. 從沒看過愛情片在片尾時這麼有力的.

男主角Bill Nighy跟女主角Kelly Macdonald真的演得很好. 看Bill的簡歷後才知道在決戰異世界中飾吸血鬼王一角. 而Kelly則是在猜火車中有演出, 但怎沒有印象. 網友也一致推崇導演David Yates跟編劇Richard Curtis. 而 David Yates 還是哈利波特:鳳凰會的密令的新導演. 不知哈利新片是著重在羅曼史上嗎?

片中還學到女助理說 pretty 跟 beautiful 不同的意義. 前者指的是年輕的美, 後者是到老還是很美.

不過還是有兩個問號, 女孩是因為男主角是財務大臣的助手才接近他的嗎? 那個小孩是誰的?
